Our story
Barcelona’s next great leap.
The Barcelona we love was built by people who dared to imagine what came next.
01 / Barcelona
Modernisme
Modernisme helped give the city its unmistakable identity. Buildings like La Pedrera turned extraordinary ideas into places that would become part of our shared history. What we now treasure as heritage began as an ambitious vision of the future.

Barcelona 1992
In 1992, Barcelona imagined its future again. The Olympic transformation helped reconnect the city with the sea, reshape its public spaces, and introduce a renewed Barcelona to the world. It was an invitation to fall in love with our city, and a demonstration of what shared ambition could achieve.

The next great leap
Now it is time for our next great leap.
Our ambition is a Barcelona with homes people can afford, green spaces close to everyday life, and neighborhoods where every generation has room to thrive. A city where young people can build an independent life, families can put down roots, and growing older means staying connected.
That means building more housing alongside generous parks and public spaces. Bringing shade, nature, and places to gather into our neighborhoods. Preserving the landmarks that carry our history, while creating new architecture that future generations will be proud to inherit.
The measure of this next transformation should be felt in everyday life: finding a home, walking beneath trees, meeting neighbors, and having space to play, rest, and belong.
We have the imagination. We have a history of making extraordinary things happen. Our next chapter deserves that same confidence.
Historical sources and editorial context
Modernisme helped shape Barcelona. The Olympic transformation accelerated wider change; it was not its only cause. Affordability and better everyday life are ambitions, not guaranteed outcomes.
